Curved Wedding Rings

When choosing an engagement ring, one thing to keep in mind is whether the stone setting is straight or if part of it juts out from the band. The reason this is important is that when choosing a wedding ring to go with the engagement ring, you’ll need to know whether you should look at straight or curved wedding rings.

Obviously, if you buy a complete wedding ring set (including both engagement ring and wedding band) the rings will fit together. Many couples, however, do not do this. Instead, they buy the engagement ring and then shop for a wedding band to match.

While it is not always difficult to find curved wedding rings, it is typically easier to find straight wedding bands. One bride had a terrible time finding a ring to match her custom made engagement ring. All of the options that would work were very expensive, so she ended up buying an inexpensive curved wedding ring that did not exactly fit with her engagement ring.

That is not to say that it will always be so difficult to find appropriate curved wedding rings, but it is something to consider when choosing an engagement ring.

If you are having an engagement ring custom made, and that ring is going to require a curved wedding ring to match, the best bet is to have the same jeweler design both rings.

The wedding and engagement ring should look as though they were meant to be worn together. Some engagement rings are more difficult to match than others, so to avoid this problem have them both made at the same time.
Vintage engagement rings often pose similar issues as custom made rings.
Many times, vintage engagement rings have been separated from their matching wedding rings.

When a couple selects a vintage or antique engagement ring, sometimes the best option is to have the matching wedding band custom made. This is the best way to ensure that the rings will look as though they were meant to be together.

It is also important to keep in mind that not all curved wedding rings are going to match every engagement ring. You will need to bring the engagement ring to the jeweler when selecting the curved wedding rings.
Some brides find that the engagement ring and the curved wedding ring takes up so much space on her finger that the set is uncomfortable. For this reason, it is a good idea to have the bride try on the band along with the engagement ring before making a final selection.

For the grooms to be who want the engagement ring to be a surprise, there is a way to do that. Simply surprise her with the engagement ring and then bring her back to the jeweler to make the selection for the curved wedding rings.

Curved wedding rings offer a unique look. Whether customer designed or purchased out of a jeweler’s showcase, these rings are sure to be treasured by the bride and groom for many years.
