Naked Weddings

Some wedding themes are not for everyone, and that is very true of this theme: Naked weddings. For the conservative, it may come as a surprise that naked weddings are growing in popularity.

In fact, some resorts offer naked weddings for a single couple – or for the truly adventurous – group naked weddings.

It doesn’t seem that what happens at such a wedding would require much explanation, but there are a few variations on the theme.

Bride and Groom Only

In some naked weddings, only the bride and groom go sans clothing. The rest of the wedding party and all of the guests are clothed.

Wedding Party

Other couples choose to have the entire wedding party go naked. Sometimes, this even includes the officiant.

Everyone

Still others choose to have everyone in attendance, including the guests, be nude.

For obvious reasons, it is important to let your guests know clearly that there will be nudity at your wedding. It is important that you not get offended if someone chooses not to attend. Just as you probably do not want to be judged for your non-traditional choice, you should not hold it against someone who chooses not to participate.

Another potential obstacle, besides having some of your guests bow out, is finding a venue that allows naked weddings.

It is safe to say that most churches will not be an option. Also, the majority of public places are not going to allow such a wedding either. The exception would be a nude beach, which makes a great choice for naked weddings.

Even though the more traditional venues will be out of the question, you still have some options.

First, is holding the wedding at a private home. Another option is to find one of the many resorts that offer naked weddings as an option.

If you have your heart set on a naked wedding, but want to have a more traditional reception, you can always choose to have the ceremony be without clothes and then have everyone get dressed and head to the hotel or hall for the reception.

It is important to consider the feelings of your family and friends when planning naked weddings. If you plan to elope then, of course, it doesn’t matter.

If, however, you expect your family and friends to attend, their thoughts should be part of the decision.

If you come from a very traditional family – and expect Grandma to attend – then a naked wedding isn’t the right choice for you. Instead, you may have to choose a traditional wedding and save the nakedness for the honeymoon.

Another option is to have your nude wedding to which only your more liberal friends are invited and then have a traditional reception for the conservative people in your life.

Whether you choose a group nude wedding, a private ceremony or have all of your friends and family leave their clothing at the door, a naked wedding is sure to be one that most people will never forget.
