Trashing the Dress is the Hottest of Wedding Photography Trends
What do you picture when you think of wedding photos? The bride smiling demurely as her proud parents look on? The groom watching with a tear in his eye as his bride walks down the aisle? How about the bride lying on a dirty railroad track while her groom sits next to her? Or the bride floating on a pond surrounded by bright green lily pads?
If the last two ideas sound crazy to you then you obviously have not heard about the latest in wedding photography trends. It’s called trashing the dress.
The trend gets its name because, well, the dress is usually trashed by the end of the photography session. For reasons that need not be stated, this type of photography session is done after the wedding.
Some brides, who do not want to ruin the dress that they got married in, purchase a second gown just so that take part in this wedding photography trend.
It is hard to say where the trend started. Some attribute it to a wedding photographer in Las Vegas, but that is a fact not agreed to by all. No matter where it started, one thing is certain, of all the current wedding photography trends, this one is the hottest.
Brides and grooms should choose locations that have meaning to them. For example, one couple chose to head to the firehouse for their trash the dress photo shoot. He is a fireman, and the photo shoot was a nod to that part of his life.
Another couple took to the slopes to pay homage to the fact that they both love skiing. The ideas are endless. Here are a just a few ideas for your trash the dress photo shoot.
